Thrown by hand on the wheel in white, earthenware clay, each mug is unique and lovingly crafted. Incised grooves add a comfortable texture when cradling the mug.

The exterior is glazed in a tactile, satin-matt glaze with a contrasting colour around the base. The interior has a glaze that is glossy and transparent.

Justine Jenner

Justine is a Hampshire based ceramicist using white, earthenware clay and colourful satin glazes. Justine throws beautiful pieces that function well and are comfortable and tactile to hold. Her choice of form and colour create objects that make beautiful, joyful additions to a home.

Through the interplay of colour on each piece, Justine explores its potential for harmony and discord in terms of proportion and tone and its interaction with the ceramic form. Each piece is handmade and therefore unique showing her love of her craft.

Justine has been making wheel thrown, contemporary table and domestic ware from her workshop in the South Downs National Park since 2013. Her training consisted of an 18 month apprenticeship at Dartington Pottery, Devon, followed by a year working for Julian Bellmont (formerly of Aldermaston Pottery) from 1997 to 1998, before heading off to Rome, Italy where she starting producing her own work.
