Lauri Hopkins' collages bring together discarded objects and paint to create compositions that are sensitive and nostalgic and yet fresh and celebratory. She has spent years amassing a collection of found, often defunct materials such as book covers, sweet wrappers and cardboard. These materials form a starting point and from there intuitive, geometric compositions build, and shed, and build again; the process is never linear.
Lauri is currently working on commissions and creating a new series of original works from her home studio in the Witterings, on the Sussex coast.
