Andy Parker is an artist whose work is preoccupied with ideas of progress and personal failings played out in a public arena. Through repetitive botanical painting, indiscernible sign writing, sinking sculpture and smudged drawings, he questions the authority and validity of accepted histories of human production.

Andy Parker

Andy Parker (b.1978), graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2007 and received a Deutsche Bank Award for Fine Art the same year. Solo exhibitions have included Sies+Höke, Düsseldorf (2009) and Lokaal 01, Antwerp (2006), and the Museum of St Helena, South Atlantic Ocean (2008). In 2013 Parker had his first solo presentation in the UK, at OUTPOST, Norwich and in 2015 was the UK representative at the Turku Biennial, Finland.

He has been selected to exhibit at galleries including Studio Voltaire, Guest Projects and Fieldgate in London, Aspex and Artsway in Hampshire, and Spike Island, Bristol, UK.

His work is held in public and private collections including Deutsche Bank, V&A and the British Museum. He currently lives and works in Somerset, UK.
