Mark began his career illustrating book covers, with great success (for Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the Vintage edition of P.G.Wodehouse and Somerset Maugham amongst others). Gradually he moved towards painting without agenda, although the graphic edge to his realism is a clue to the beginnings of his career.
