Jemma Appleby

Jemma Appleby's work is an investigation into the complex relationship between architecture and landscape.

Along with the forest, architecture is a principal focus in her work, referencing utopias and enriched futures. Architectural forms are used to explore the themes of shelter and protection by generating structures of physical impossibility. They give the illusion of a structure offering refuge, however they are no more than geometric planes creating a façade.
