By Nick Fraser

The Thelma Hulburt Gallery in Honiton, South Devon, is currently showing the Evolver Prize 2017 exhibition which features 100 artworks to mark the 100th edition of Evolver Magazine.

We were delighted to hear that our current exhibition artist, Russell Denman was named the overall exhibition winner for his artwork ‘Model Shelter No.1’ which features on the front cover of the July/August edition of the Wessex Arts and Culture guide.

There is a broad spectrum of artworks in different media exhibited at the gallery, which is well worth a visit.  All of the artworks are for sale.

The winning artist Russell Denman commented, “Having my work shown in the Thelma Hulbert Gallery is a great privilege and winning the prize has also enabled my work to have access to a huge audience in peoples' homes on the cover of Evolver. This piece (Mountain Shelter) is a photograph of one of an ongoing series of sculptural models titled 'Protect and House', the series explores themes of shelter, home and its place in the landscape culturally and politically.”

Visit our exhibition space in Frome to see more of Russell's work along side beautiful embroideries and collage pieces by Eleanor Denman.  The exhibition is open until 3rd September 2017.
