Andrea Roman

Andrea Roman is a ceramic designer originally from Mexico and currently based in London.

Her work is characterised by the use of stained clay and the deliberate absence of glaze in a large portion of the objects surface. Straight lines and simple forms provide the perfect canvas for Andrea to focus on the clay body itself allowing experimentation with texture and tone.

Roman enjoys exploring the collective interaction of pieces, forming playful rhythmic and graphical compositions when displayed together, evoking a sense of movement and harmony. Inspired by the fusion of art and functionality, her work nods to the spirit of avant-garde aesthetics. Andrea's aim is for her functional pieces to bring joy to those who use them in their daily routines.

As well as creating her own collections, Andrea has also had the privilege of collaborating with renowned restaurants such as Kol, Ikoyi and Hide. In these collaborations, she developed pieces in response to the unique visions and requirements of the chefs and enhancing the dining experience.
