Tim Lake

Wales Based ceramicist Tim Lake makes pots to be used, pots to be looked at and most of all pots to be enjoyed. He aims to celebrate the clay, bringing the softness of the material through to the end of the processes and transforming it into beautiful objects of use. Tim's pots are vibrant in form and surface texture whilst maintaining a quiet presence.

A variety of different influences inform Lake's work, from East to West, Korea to Marshall, Karatsu to Vansgo. He enjoys the combination of these influences, creating work that has a subtle beauty that can only be achieved with clay.

All of Tim's work work is stoneware and is either thrown and turned on a slow turning kick wheel or slab built, fired between 1280°C–1300°C in a gas/wood kiln.
