‘Through the Alleyway’ was a reconstruction of routes taken into Brighton. Sometimes the unpredictable nature of carving into the wood sent the drawing off on a new different direction. The drawing became more of a maze, feeding from one mark to another. Shapes and lines are used to highlight passages, chimneys and a very wonky staircase that came to surface.
