Kirsty Tanner
Kirsty Tanner is a Scottish artist and designer living in Liverpool. Working across paint, textiles, collage and print she explores built and natural environments evoking memories or moments of time and place.
Kirsty’s work is influenced by Modernist design, agricultural landscapes and the weather. Her childhood memories of rural Scotland juxtapose with her love of Brutalist architecture, bold line and cast concrete.
The tactile, textural elements of Kirsty’s work sit within flat, geometric form. Collage papers are hand-painted and hand-cut, fabrics are chosen for their evocative colours and natural weaves before mark-making techniques are applied with paint and thread, bold brushstrokes are made on canvas but held within angular sections of architectural line.
