One Pear, One Orange
The canvas boards used in this still life series were originally used as palettes to mix the paints and colours for the artists larger paintings. The beautiful expressive and abstract backgrounds created through process became the starting canvas for these new artworks using images and shapes that were unconsciously created. The result is a naive, tactile and energetic depiction of everyday scenes.
