Double Line was made as part of a project about drawing and weaving. This weaving looks at the possibilities of translating data from cnc milling and was made when Ismini was working at Falmouth University, researching milling and weaving with Gary Allson. Ismini Samanidou

Ismini was born in Athens and trained in London at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art. Her practice crosses the boundaries of art, craft and design with work developed for exhibitions, industry collaborations and site specific commissions. She works with weaving, drawing and photography and her working methods utilise both digital technologies and traditional techniques.
Ismini has travelled and researched textile techniques worldwide and is principally interested in the way weaving exists as a common autonomous language crossing cultural and political boundaries.
