Nancy’s work observes how changing daylight transforms spaces through elongated shadow forms. Her current focus is on the translation of light and shadow within spaces creating a cinematic quality with textured mark making.

Directing the viewers’ eye using the frame, linking the interior with the exterior, is a tool Nancy often uses to invite potential narrative. The construction of space is made with sensitivity to materiality, imitating visual moments containing both harsh and subtle light. By abstracting the original space, Nancy is able to capture the mood without the need for explicit definition.
