Joella Wheatley
Joella’s work translates a distinct scene that is recognisable, yet at the same time explores the imagination. They capture a silent moment, where each drawing finds its own narrative, whether it's the artists or the viewers. These moments are still, and hold a significant weight from one piece to the other. Recent paintings have evolved onto wooden panels, resulting in an organic look, where thin layers of paint build up, latching onto the grains. A combination of lines and dots are drawn onto the surface. This combination of materials and techniques help create a delicate and structured landscape, allowing me to focus on very specific details.
