Constructed Bottle II

Amanda-Sue Rope

£250.00

These sculptural 'Redware' pieces are hand-thrown on the wheel with a red stoneware clay. The surfaces of the forms are sometimes marked with grooves, furrows and the like, and then cut up and re-constructed to create one-off pieces heavily influenced by the vernacular of ‘high’ and ‘low’ architecture. They are glazed with a lead-free glaze and fired to 1240 degrees centigrade. The glaze is food-safe and the pieces should be washed by hand.

Amanda-Sue is a London-based artist and designer. Working with clay, paint and print, her graphic compositions and forms are influenced by the architectural richness of her environment. She has received illustration commissions from Faber, Pushkin Press, World of Interiors and Stella Magazine and is represented by the illustration agency, Glory! She is a member of The Kiln Rooms in Peckham.

Red stoneware bottle thrown and constructed with a shiny transparent glaze on the interior surface.
